Understanding Your Relationship's Health
= Improved Satisfaction
It used to be that we evaluated the health of romantic relationships based on isolated, independent measures of role performance, compatibility, functioning, and conflict, but thanks to dedicated researchers including John Gottman, Sue Johnson, Shaver & Hazan, Funk & Rogge, and others, we have a more complete picture of how to evaluate the stability, satisfaction and security, and therefore the durability, of committed adult love relationships.
I always provide couples assessments integrated with couples I see for therapy, but can also offer stand-alone Gottman Relationship Checkup and SYMBIS (Save Your Marriage Before It Starts) Premarital assessments with brief counseling services to couples just wanting to know where they stand according to the best current relationship assessment science. We know now that professional, comprehensive assessment is an essential part of intervention in a couple's relationship, whether they are ready for couple therapy or not, and ON ITS OWN prevents divorce and reduces relational distress. This service is available to all residents of North Carolina (where I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker), and can be done at distance via secure internet services if needed. For couples who complete this assessment process and wish to be seen in couples therapy, but need or want to be seen by a different therapist, I can provide a report to be given to the chosen therapist.
I invite you to call (919-267-1661) today to discuss this service. Imagine the peace of mind you can have just learning where you most important relationship currently stands, and what you can do about it independent of couples therapy.
