While the grim odds remain that all marriages have at least a 50% risk for divorces, couples who received premarital counseling are 31% less likely to divorce, and more likely to seek evidence-based couple therapy earlier than couples who marry without premarital assessment and consultation.  Premarital assessment, counseling and education can save couples, their families, and communities prolonged marital distress, many unnecessary divorces, and associated problems that result from divorce.

I am a Certified SYMBIS (Save Your Marriage Before It Starts) Facilitator, providing premarital assessment and consultation to couples throughout North Carolina.  I provide this service in-office and via the internet with individual couples.  Couples who identify high-risks for divorce and dissatisfaction can be referred after assessment for effective couple therapy either with me (as available) or with a trusted licensed professional I can help the couple identify.
