Outside of attending direct services, I recommend clients, supervisees, and consultees to enhance their experience through a combination of resources including materials in print, on the internet, and in person. Please consider all of these materials for your review. I select these resources based on my own professional experience and do not receive any compensation for their promotion.

Helpful Workshops
Hold Me Tight® Workshops - web link
- For couples who aren't ready for therapy or would like a workshop format of Hold Me Tight or Emotionally Focused Therapy, Hold Me Tight workshops are held throughout the United States, and offer an abbreviated experience of EFT that is shown in studies to positively impact participating couples. This can also be a helpful addition to being in EFT as a couple or family. Additionally, there is now an on-demand version of this workshop at www.holdmetightonline.com
- Hold Me Tight® NC is where I facilitate these workshops
- For couples who need a dose of education about what science says matters most to having a happy and healthy relationship, the Gottman Institute offers 2-day in-person and online Art and Science of Love workshops.
- I recommend https://www.connectcouplestherapy.com/ for these workshops

On Couples Relationships & Marriage
Hold Me Tight®: Seven Conversations for a Lifetime of Love by Sue Johnson
- I recommend this book for all couples who intend to enter Emotionally Focused Therapy. Couples who read this in advance of EFT seem to get a nice "bump" in understanding the road map of this approach. There is also an audio book format via Audible (Audible link), and there is a format of this book, Created for Connection, written specifically for those who would like a Christian framework of EFT and Hold Me Tight (Amazon link, Audible link)
- This workbook is a very practical compliment for structured home practice of Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy. Highly recommended for couples motivated to engage in the exercises outside of therapy sessions.
